Amarok

Amarok

Polish Amarok is originally an art-rock project, founded in 1999 by multi-instrumentalist Michal Wojtas and guitarist Bartosz Jackowski. Between 2001 and 2004 the band released 3 albums; the formation changed in 2003 to a solo project by Michal Wojtas.

In 2017, after a 12-year break, Amarok's 4th album was released: “Hunt”. Colin Bass (Camel) and Mariusz Duda (Riverside, Lunatic Soul) collaborated on this record as guest musicians. Furthermore, Martja Wojtas, responsible for the lyrics, joined the band as a permanent fixture. 2019 marks the collaboration between Michal and British choreographer James Wilton, resulting in the 5th album: “The Storm”, a large part of which consists of an instrumental piece for Wilton's eponymous dance performance. In 2021, Amarok's lineup was expanded with Konrad Zielinski on drums and multi-instrumentalist Kornel Poplawski, and they released “Hero”, their 6th album.
