One of the most versatile singers in our country, Anneke van Giersbergen is going on tour again! Anneke has been writing a lot of new music for several months now. Her energetic eight-piece band plays an important role in this, both in the studio and on stage. The first songs will be released online in early 2025 in the form of an EP. In addition to this new material, Anneke and band will play a series of highlights from her extensive oeuvre.
In the nineties, the Netherlands became acquainted with Anneke van Giersbergen as the vocal and visual figurehead of The Gathering. With her powerful and vulnerable voice, songwriting skills and many collaborations with national and international artists, she has now built a successful solo career. It is not without reason that she was awarded the Buma ROCKS in 2019! Export Award, a recognition and token of appreciation for her success abroad. Early 2021, her candid solo album The Darkest Skies Are The Brightest was released, later that year Anneke participated in the popular Dutch television show Beste Zangers (best vocalists), in which she made a great impression on a wide audience.
Anneke about her new material: “My new music sounds a bit heavier again and contains a few surprising 80s elements, such as synthesizers and reverberating drums, but there are definitely rocking guitars to be heard too!”
