Band of Friends takes you back to the days of Rory Gallagher! His music is played with heart and soul, not least because band member Gerry McAvoy was Rory Gallagher's regular bassist from 1971 to 1991.
Gerry founded Band of Friends in 2012 with drummer Ted McKenna, who was also part of Gallagher's band (1977-1982). After Ted's passing in 2019, Gerry wanted to continue honoring Rory's musical legacy and began collaborating with various musicians who could perform Gallagher's music with the same passion. Rory Gallagher's music is not only played technically well, but also with respect for the original atmosphere: the guitar parts, the dynamics, the emotion—every detail is perfect.
