In the spring of 2015, after 10 successful years, 4 CDs, various awards and hundreds of shows at home and abroad, the final curtain fell for the legendary Twelve Bar Blues Band (12BBB). As the requests to bring the band together again kept coming and the sense of deprivation also became stronger, the band decided to meet the demand.
The Twelve Bar Blues Band mainly plays its own material and draws inspiration from the Chicago blues. Led by super tandem Jan J. Scherpenzeel, alias J.J. Sharp (vocals & harmonica) and Kees Dusink, (solo & slide guitar) the band knows how to amaze audiences and organizers with high quality play and the ultimate blues atmosphere, as you would expect in a bar in Chicago or New Orleans. The chemistry was there right from the start. As a duo of composers, they form the basis of almost the entire 12BBB repertoire and both musicians are well attuned to each other on stage. The line-up is complemented by bassist Patrick ‘Sideburn’ Obrist, drummer Jeffrey van Duffelen and 2nd guitarist Peter Langerak.
