Two worlds come together on this Sunday afternoon: jazz and hard rock on one stage. Drummer Pierre Courbois represents jazz and son Barend, on electric bass, represents hard rock. Barend Courbois could recently be seen with the Michael Schenker Group at De Boerderij. With this group he was perforing at all major festivals in the world last year. Pierre has also seen quite a lot of the world, performing as a jazz drummer.
If it fits both schedules, they love to play together. Father and son have an excellent sense of each other musically. Identical genes, they say. Barend: 'My father is the only drummer with whom I never have to look backward. I know exactly what he's going to do.' And Pierre about Barend: 'He plays bass like a drummer, he has a great sense of rhythm.' The music genre is described by Barend as follows: 'We do rock things in a jazzy way and jazz things in a rockin’ way.' They don't like to categorize music, there is only good or bad music.
