The original lineup consisted of powerful vocalist Johnny Gioeli, guitarist Neal Schon (of Journey), and drummer Deen Castronovo (also of Journey). This all-star cast contributed to the band's early success and gave their music a polished, commercial sound. Double Eclipse contained several hits, including the popular songs Hot Cherie and Takin' Me Down, which established Hardline's reputation as a band capable of delivering catchy yet powerful rock anthems. After the success of Double Eclipse, the band experienced lineup changes and periods of stagnation; nevertheless, Johnny Gioeli remained the consistent face.  Hardline released several albums, including II, Danger Zone and Heart, Mind and Soul, and guarantees energetic live performances full of classic and modern rock influences.
