Kingfisher Sky plays Kate Bush

A Tribute to the music of Kate Bush

Kingfisher Sky plays Kate Bush

Kingfisher Sky has never hidden its admiration for Kate Bush! Since the band's inception, Kate Bush's oeuvre has been a great source of inspiration for these musicians from The Hague.

After occasional covers of Cloudbusting and Running up that Hill ended up on the setlist, the band really wanted to focus an entire show on the enigmatic singer/songwriter! Of course, classics such as Wuthering Heights and Running up that Hill will pass by, but other gems from her rich repertoire will not be left untouched!

It's 2001 when drummer Ivar de Graaf makes a bold move and decides to leave Within Temptation amidst the band's international breakthrough. The musician wants to fully focus on the development of his own musical career, impossible to combine with the emerging success of Within Temptation. Together with the classically trained singer Judith Rijnveld, he takes all the time he needs to write  songs that cannot easily be pigeonholed. The end result? Catchy prog metal full of folk influences, even containing a touch of soul. Thus laying the foundation of Kingfisher Sky. After a slow start, Kingfisher Sky quickly gained momentum. The release of debut album “Hallway Of Dreams” was not only successfully released in Europe, the band's popularity also grew in South America and Japan. To date, Kingfisher Sky has four albums and five high-quality EP’s to its name. An absolute must for fans of Porcupine Tree, Jethro Tull, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Cecilia Bartoli, Mother's Finest, King's X, Skunk Anansie, Mike Oldfield and Pink Floyd.
