The Leif de Leeuw Band is THE southern jam band of Europe. Leif has been named best blues-rock guitarist in the Benelux nine consecutive times and Sem Jansen is the winner of Dutch TV show Hit the Road. After a third Allman Brothers tour and the Who The F*ck is Britt tour with Sem Jansen, it is now time for another cool Leif de Leeuw Band album: Mighty Fine.
With six members, these musicians deliver a show with flaming guitar solos, two dueling drummers and ripping Hammond sounds in which improvisation in strong narrative songs is key. The band has built up an international reputation in more than ten years with tours throughout Europe, America and China and now has six albums to its name. Every song leaves room for improvisation, so no two shows are the same. The sound is a great mix of rock, blues, Americana, country and southern rock with sincere lyrics and a nice seventies touch. For inspiration, Leif de Leeuw Band listened to American bands such as Gov't Mule, The Allman Brothers Band, Blackberry Smoke, Chris Stapleton and The Wood Brothers. They looked for the perfect marriage between good songs and adventurous improvisations that really work well live.
