Made In Purple

Deep Purple tribute plays Made In Japan

Made In Purple

The mission of Made In Purple is clear: to bring Deep Purple’s Made In Japan to life. This iconic live album, recorded and released in 1972, will celebrate its 55th anniversary next year! The album features Deep Purple’s most successful lineup—Gillan, Glover, Lord, Blackmore, and Paice—and is performed by Made In Purple with respect for the original songs, sound, and solos.

Made In Japan was already a huge success in 1972 and is still regarded as one of the most successful live albums ever. With songs like Highway Star, Child in Time, Smoke on the Water, The Mule, Strange Kind of Woman, Lazy, and Space Truckin’, Made in Purple brings the magical live experience of this record to the stage.

Made In Purple consists of four experienced session and live musicians, who also teach at the conservatories of Ghent and Brussels, and a flamboyant singer known for his role as Jesus in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. Driven by passion, enthusiasm, and the ’70s hard rock spirit, they take on this musical challenge.
