Guitar legend Michael Schenker celebrates the 50th anniversary of his time with UFO with a live tour. When he joined UFO in late 1973, the then 18-year-old Michael Schenker contributed significantly to the international mega success of the British rock band. He transformed from German prodigy to one of the most renowned guitarists of our time, who still influences entire generations of musicians worldwide with his legendary guitar playing.
During his time with UFO from 1974 to 1978, also known as the Schenker period, Michael Schenker released five groundbreaking studio albums, including Lights Out and Phenomenon, and the live album Strangers In The Night (Live in Chicago 1978), which is still considered revolutionary today. He was partly responsible for world hits such as Doctor Doctor, Rock Bottom and Only You Can Rock Me.
Michael Schenker is not only celebrating with an album with new versions of the best UFO songs from that period, but is also embarking on a major European tour with his backing band. The My Years With UFO tour covers several countries in Europe and the tour will kick off at Poppodium Boerderij.
