Psychedelic Rock Trio Mother's Cake is known for its energetic performances worldwide. They have played hundreds of shows, from Manchester to Melbourne and Mumbai, with Wolfmother, Iggy & The Stooges, Omar Rodriguez-López, Alice in Chains and Limp Bizkit among others.
The band calls itself a psych rock trio, but their music reaches further than that. It goes from rocking soul to swamp groove, with a foray into new wave funk rock. On their fifth album, entitled Cyberfunk!, the band presents itself as both adventurous and earthy, both sky-high and down-to-earth. After more than a year of preparation and recorded during intensive sessions, the album consists of ten songs that capture the raw live energy of the band, in a perfect balance between vintage madness and precision. Although the title suggests a futuristic style, the album is recorded in a classic way, with all three musicians together in one room and minimal overdubs. With Cyberfunk! they have created an album that fits perfectly at this point in their career!
Support: Laura Palmer
Laura Palmer embraces Shoegaze with a touch of modern experimentation. It’s a four-piece band, balancing on uneasy melodies, floating drones and dreamy soundscapes. The result is a dystopian soundtrack, thundering wildly through the chaos.
