Precision, intensity, and emotion are at the core of Simon's distinctive sound, regardless of the setting. Tonight, we welcome Simon and his musicians back with the new Protocol VI!
Simon played drums in Toto and collaborated on projects with Steve Lukather, Michael Schenker, and Derek Sherinian, among others. But since 2013, he has focused on his own compositions with the Protocol series. The music of the most recent Protocol V combines a wide range of styles, with a jazz-rock core. Complex rhythms, tight arrangements, and a modern approach to fusion with melodic hooks and technical precision. The songs range from energetic up-tempo tracks to atmospheric, soothing pieces, with plenty of variety in style and emotion. We can't wait for Protocol VI, which will be released in early 2026! Besides Simon, the band consists of Alex Sill (guitar), Ernest Tibbs (electric bass), Otmaro Ruiz (piano, keyboards), and Jacob Scesney (saxophones).
