Vanilla Fudge feat. Org members Carmin Appice, Vince Martell & Mark Stein

American rock band Vanilla Fudge, originally a blue-eyed cover band called The Pigeons, was formed in 1966. Vanilla Fudge took The Pigeons' cover material of contemporary pop songs a step further, blowing them up to epic proportions and ending up with a style they themselves called psychedelic symphonic rock. In 1967 the band released their covers-heavy self-titled debut album which included their breakthrough hit You Keep Me Hangin' On, first recorded by The Supremes.
The album, which also contained revolutionary different versions of well-known songs such as Eleanor Rigby, Bang Bang and She's Not There, reached an underground status. After five albums and four years of extensive touring the band called it a day in 1970. Carmine Appice and Tim Bogart went on to form the band Cactus which they left late 1972 to join forces with Jeff Beck for the Cream-styled Beck, Bogert and Appice project. When this project ended, Appice became a much sought-after session and touring musician, working with a variety of artists, including Rod Stewart. Vanilla Fudge have reunited several times since 1984. The line-up for tonight's show consists of founding members Carmine Appice (drums, vocals), Vince Martell (guitar, vocals) and Mark Stein (keyboards, lead vocals), with Pete Bremy on bass.
