Australian master drummer Virgil is renowned for his incredibly skilled and versatile drumming. His amazing power, flexibility and speed are baffling and have left many of his peers scratching their heads in amazement. Donati's influences are as varied as the styles and techniques he has mastered, ranging from rock (Ian Paice, Carl Palmer) to jazz (Buddy Rich, Louie Bellson).
Virgil was born in Australia, but has taken up residence in the US where he has teamed up with Derek Sherinian and L.A. progressive metal band Planet X in 1999. He also has a long-standing touring relationship with Allan Holdsworth. Famously independent and very strictly self-disciplined, Virgil is known for a life dedicated to music. When he is not touring or recording you can probably find him giving clinics somewhere. Tonight Virgil, joined by guitar player Andre Nieri and bass player Braguinha, will perform a set that heavily features tracks from his album In This Life, and also includes some Planet X and Allan Holdsworth pieces.
