After spending the past ten years performing exclusively in theatres, Ellen ten Damme is returning to the club circuit this autumn with her band and an all-new show. The Medusa Tour will be preceded by the release of her new album of the same name, which she is currently putting the finishing touches on.
Ellen lives and breathes the stage, her art, and her audience. She sings, acts, dances, writes, and composes, but at heart she has always been, first and foremost, a musician. Following a string of highly successful theatre productions, she is returning to pop venues with a brand-new album and an exciting new club show.
After a successful first run this past spring, Ellen and her band are heading back to the clubs this autumn for a second leg of the tour. "It felt so good to be back in the familiar club venues, performing these new danceable songs, so I'm delighted we get to keep it going for a while longer."
Her new album, Medusa, will be released on 6 November. The songs were written and produced by Ellen herself, in collaboration with acclaimed author Ilja Leonard Pfeijffer and producer Koen van de Wardt (Klangstof). Drawing on electronic influences, the album shifts between dark, mystical soundscapes and vibrant, danceable energy. Or, as Ellen herself describes Medusa: sacred, pagan, sexy, and divine.
